We have had our Back Cove 37 for several years now, and what I love about E Marine, and in particular Jed-- it’s not just that he sold us our boat Tricky, it's the after service of what Jed does. He goes beyond customer service. He has become a very loyal friend, and I would recommend E Marine and Back Coves to anyone. The service is outstanding, and the product is bringing so much joy to our lives, each and every day. E Marine has made boating a dream, compared to when it used to be a dread from our GB 52. Since upgrading to a Back Cove, my life as a shipmate is a delight. We would highly recommend that every boating person at least treats themselves to looking at a Back Cove before making a decision in the market.
I had never before owned a boat before, not even a dinghy, and Jed told me that I was very lucky to find the Sabre brand. At the time, I didn't quite know what he meant but I do now! Three months after our purchase, he took us on tours of the Sabre and Back Cove factories in Maine, USA. To see the craftsmanship that goes into these boats is just WOW! Amazing! It was a wonderful experience and it was also a pleasure to meet his family and friends there (including his mum!). Jed has always availed himself with tips and advice for a novice like myself and you can sense the pride he has in these high quality Maine-built crafts.
Jed has recently sold me a Back Cove boat. I found him to be extremely helpful and informative as well as honest to deal with. I have found my boat to be an absolute gem. I have just had it surveyed and it received a glowing report (as well as a lot of interest from people visiting the marina)! I have no hesitation in recommending Jed or Back Cove boats to anyone.
We took 4 years to sample and decide on our next boat. Jed (with Peter) showed incredible patience and was always willing to showcase the latest from Back Cove until that eventful day when E Marine delivered the perfect match... our BC30, Newark. We have now had Newark 5 years and we use her every chance we get. We know that should we have any queries, Jed is always on hand to get advice. If we ever replace our wee ship it will be Jed and the E Marine team who get the call.
We were keen to have a boat for our family, however we had little experience with boats. Jed Elderkin at E Marine was very patient and helpful and guided us through the process. It was a pleasure to work with him on this purchase. We give Jed a big thumbs up !
We purchased our Back Cove 30 ft from Jed 7 years ago and it has been a wonderful addition to our family. Over that time Jed has remained in touch with us & to this day we can pick the phone up and Jed is more than happy to answer our questions or provide advice. We just love our boat as do others who often stop and admire her in the marina . Last year we joined a tour hosted by Jed of the Back Cove and Sabre factories in Maine USA. The quality of the craftsmanship and attention to detail was remarkable to see in is day and age. No wonder our Back Cove is still in excellent condition despite her age! If we were ever to purchase another boat it would be from Jed and it would be a Back Cove or Sabre. The relationship with Jed and the quality of the product is such that we would look no further.
Half the joy of owning a Back Cove has been the relationship we've forged with Jed and Evie. Seems like a customer to Jed is a customer for life! Support and advice on anything from snagging issues to berthing and anchoring or routine maintenance - nothing is too much trouble. As for the boat itself - fabulous. Timeless, classic lines, robust and practical. Buy one!
I purchased my Back Cove 30 nearly three years ago. It was my first power boat after years of sailing. Not only was the purchase a smooth process but Jed was extremely helpful in teaching me the elements of power boat handling.
Since that early period the service has been ongoing. I am extremely pleased with my Back Cove both from a seaworthy and comfort aspect and it still looks good!
